Hawaii
Oahu is the most popular island in the Hawaiian chain, and also the most populous. Oahu lays claim to having the state capitol of Honolulu, and most of the islands' bars and tourist attractions. The absolute primetime to see to Oahu are the last weeks of December, but you must make sure to reserve your ticket if you want to make it during this time! The Honolulu International Airport has flights coming in from all over the world, and is by far the easiest and most economical way to reach the island. There are buses that run for free from the airport terminal to the inter-island ferry terminals should you choose to visit another island on your vacation. Honolulu and Waikiki are the most popular destinations for visitors, and they also have the most amenities Keep in mind that with all these amenities comes sprawl and you will have to leave the cities to escape crowds Car rentals are easy to find in the city, and if you want to travel beyond the cities it is recommended. If you are planning on staying in the city the bus system will get you everywhere you need to go, and costs just $2.00 per adult ride. There are plenty of sights to see in Honolulu, and some of the most spectacular are the coves Waikiki, Kuhio, and Halona Beach Cove are considered some of the best spots on the island, and are justifiably packed In addition to the beaches, Honolulu has some of the best Pearl Harbor museums and memorials in Hawaii. The USS Arizona and the Battleship Missouri are the two best memorials. If you are a history buff, these are not to be missed. Each memorial is open from 9am on (7:30am for the USS Arizona), and are open year-round excep Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. For Haiwaiian culture the best option is the Bishop Museum, founded in 1889 by Charles Reed Bishop. There is an excellent standing collection of Hawaiian artifacts and cultural stories, as well as a new science exhibit on volcanoes. Beyond the beaches, museums, and memorials lie many culinary delights. For mid-range Hawaiian food that most tourists will never see, Ono Hawaiian Foods is an excellent choice. They offer many Hawaiian dishes at very reasonable prices. If you are looking to splurge on an extravagant meal, Elua and Alan Wong's Restaurant are very popular with both tourists and locals alike. Be prepared with reservations for both restaurants, as they tend to be busy year-round and booked solid. For drinks the Mai Tai Bar is very popular, voted top bar in Honolulu multiple times. The best times to go are Wednesdays and weekends, when they have live local music playing. Lodging runs the gamut from budget to extravagant with everything in between. There are many great places to stay on the island. You can find simple beach bungalows to luxurious resorts. The Kahala Hotel & Resort offers 5-star digs and all the pampering you would expect want, while the Best Western Plaza Hotel offers kid-friendly accommodations with an outdoor pool, conference center, and complimentary breakfast buffet. There are many good places to stay from hotels to beach bungalows. For those looking for luxurious accommodation, you'll be able to find it here. Hawaii is a great place to have a vacation. Whether you are a honeymooning couple, a family, or just out there for a good time, you'll be able to find what you want in Hawaii. You can relax by the pool, surf in great water, lounge on the beach, and explore great jungles. For your next holiday, consider going to Hawaii.
