Why People Like to Visit Washington, USA

In the 18th century in Washington, USA, the Europeans were attracted to this land because of fur trading of sea otter. After many more years British developed interest in land animals too, particularly beaver. In 1818, Americans signed a treaty with British to occupy Oregon County for next 10 years. In 1846 boundaries between America and Canada were carved and Washington came to American side. It still was part of Oregon territory.

After two years it got its own territory and started flourishing. A private plane manufacturing unit became the biggest in US before World War I and even after World War II. In 20th century development in agriculture increased manifold and trading too gathered pace. The best feature about Washington's people is a relaxed pace of life and harmony with nature.

Located a few miles west of Walla Walla on Highway 12, Whitman Mission National Historical Site is created to honor area's first mission. A 'Pig War' started at San Juan Island National Historical Park in 1859 as both American and British soldiers had control over these islands. However the matter was solved amicably after 13 years as no shot was fired. This place stands as a guard at these islands.

Fort Vancouver Historical Site is a place from where many American pioneers came for supplies to start farming. It was center of political, commercial and cultural activities from 1825 to 1849. Settled on 'skid road of Seattle, is Pioneer Square is most famous and oldest neighborhood. Step into this 15-block museum and feel the vibrancy of this old city.

Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park is the site that saw rush of Gold seekers. When news about Gold finding spread, many went to Canada's Yukon Territory in search of finding more Gold. Fifth oldest national park in US, Mr. Rainer has everything you look for in a natural inhabited park. Wildflower meadows, dense forests, rugged glaciers and an active volcano are all there. To explore a volcano come to Mt. Saint Helens National Volcanic Monument.

The City of Seattle is a vibrant city that contains Mariners, Pike's place Market, Supersonics and Space Needle. It has great suburbs too. Divided in four Ranger Districts, Olympic National forest (Olympic Peninsula) is sprawled in 632000 acres. World Expo., 1974 was held at Riverfront Park that has hand carved horses for various rides. One of the most scenic parks of State, Fort Canby State Park gives you a splendid view to source of River Columbia and two lighthouses. It offers all sea related amenities.

State's top recreational area, Lake Chelan State park is located on Lake Chelan and has a underwater park with all other facilities. Beacon Rock State park is located some miles east of Vancouver off State route 14. Actually, it is 848ft core of an old volcano. All basic comforts are provided here.

Built in1810, Riverside State Park, have oldest log structure in Spokane County. It also has other usual facilities and an ORV (Off road vehicle) area. Located on High Way 207 Lake Wenatchee are some miles north of Leavenworth. With 12000 foot of waterfront, it is a famous recreational area. All common comforts are provided.
